About the Role

As an Associate Manager of Billing, you will support our growing network of clients and licensed therapists by leading a team of Healthcare Billing Specialists and ensuring day to day revenue operations activities are running smoothly and efficiently. You will identify and implement continuous improvement of the revenue operations process with the goal of delivering a positive customer service experience for your provider and clients and achieving company collection goals. The Associate Manager of Billing will report directly to the Manager of Revenue Operations and will work closely with other departments to promote the highest level of client and provider satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Manage a team of Healthcare Billing Specialists
  • Handle and resolve payor escalations
  • Handle employee related items and hold 1:1s with team members
  • Participate in reporting on payer trends
  • Work cross functionally with leaders of Customer Operations, Provider Success, and Credentialing
  • Understand and leverage improvements of our platform to increase collection efforts

What does success look like?

  • Within one week, meet with the core billing team, and other cross-functional teams to understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Within two weeks. be able to understand and become familiarized with revenue workflow and processes
  • Within three weeks, be able to identify revenue operations gaps and recommend/implement processes to increase collection efforts.
  • Within one month, be able to communicate directly with clients and providers answering and resolving billing/claim issues; fully transition and comfortable with managing the billing team and direct day to day operations.
  • Within two months, be able to see positive revenue workflow & efficiency to achieve 98% collection rate company goal.
  • Within six months, be able to work independently, manage the department and team. Contribute and implement business cases to improve revenue operations processes and team efficiencies to scale with growth.

Who You Are

Required Education/Experience Skills, experience, and education that is needed for this person to be able to succeed in this role

  • Minimum two years of proven leadership experience
  • Minimum three years of direct customer service in the healthcare industry or related field
  • Knowledge of insurance plans and contractual arrangements affecting payments
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance collection workflows (benefit verification, claim submission, payment posting, denial management)
  • Demonstrated accounts receivable experience
  • Comfort and interest in working in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment
  • Intermediate Excel skills (vlookup and pivot tables)

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Demonstrated success in revenue-cycle innovation
  • Experience leading a cash posting team
  • Experience with Medicare and VA payors
  • Experience in a start-up environment
  • Self-motivated and driven

The anticipated salary range for this role will be $75,000-86,000 per year.
